The RAF Association is thrilled to announce that security and aerospace company, Lockheed Martin, has kindly agreed to be the lead sponsor for RAFA Rides 2022.

RAFA Rides is the Association’s annual cycling event, which offers both an on-road event in Leicestershire and a global virtual event.

In 2021, 810 riders from all over the world were united in a common goal; to ride together to raise money to support the RAF community. Riders participated from 20 countries across six continents. Teams and individuals joined from North America, South America, Africa, the Middle East, New Zealand, as well as across the UK and Europe. During the day, live feeds between Leicestershire, RAF stations across the UK and the teams in other countries brought the riders together.

Paul Livingston, Chief Executive Lockheed Martin UK said:

“Lockheed Martin UK was extremely proud to have supported RAFA Rides 2021, as we recognise the critical role that the RAF Association plays in empowering serving RAF personnel, RAF veterans and their families. Extending that support to 2022 underlines that pride and we look forward to seeing even more cyclists joining from even more countries. I will certainly be encouraging my colleagues to get involved.”

Air Vice-Marshal Gary Waterfall, RAF Association ambassador and RAFA Rides founder, said:

“This year saw our first truly world-wide event, uniting our global military community. Saturday 11 June 2022 is shaping up to be even bigger, so Lockheed Martin UK’s support is very welcome, as it will help us link up even more riders from around the world, united in support of our air forces.”

Anyone who loves cycling, and wants to join riders around the world in supporting the RAF community, can sign up now.
